Hanging a 65” TV above a fireplace
Not to long ago, a customer requested hanging a 65” TV above a fireplace which was challenging to accomplish.
First, the TV was very heavy, and second it had a big stand who would not fit on the mantel above the fireplace. To accomplish this task, it was necessary to build a wall mounting base plate out of ¾ birch plywood to accommodate the TV mount.
This additional mounting base plate was necessary because the studs were spaced to far apart above the fireplace to receive the screws form the TV mounting kit. Furthermore, this additional mounting base plate built the foundation to securely mount the mounting kit into the studs.
